Although Johnny Burgin now hangs his hat in Memphis Tennessee, his Chicago roots run deep. Johnny learned from the Chicago blues masters but also left his own mark on the scene with a now-legendary seven year Wicker Park club residency and several acclaimed Delmark recordings. Don’t miss Johnny’s annual Chicago Homecoming Blues Revue at The Skokie Theatre. In addition to showcasing his own newest material, he collaborates with unique artists each year. The 2024 Revue highlights this elder Chicago Blues stateswoman Katherine Davis and rising blues harmonica star Big Al Dorn from Milwaukee, making his Chicago debut. For every ticket sold, a donation will be made to Will’s Place, a nonprofit cafe located in downtown Skokie that creates meaningful employment and vocational training opportunities for adults with disabilities.
